The CE Shop is an approved provider of education in Iowa: Provider Number: 244
Renewal Date: Every three years by 12/31
Hours required: 36 hours (24 Elective hours and 12 Mandatory hours of which must be comprised of: 8 hours Law Update and 4 hours Ethics)
The CE Shop Offering: 24 hours are allowable online; we have 24 online Elective hours to choose from and 4 online Mandatory hours of Ethics to choose from.
Seat time: There is a state requirement that a licensee must spend 50 minutes for every hour the course is approved for interacting with the course. The course timing mechanism will keep track of your course time.
Post-licensing: All salespersons originally licensed prior to January 1, 2009 that are renewing for the first time must complete the following 36 hours of Commission approved education: 12 hours Developing Professionalism & Ethical Practices, 12 hours Buying Practices, and 12 hours Listing Practices.
The CE Shop does not offer these courses as they must be taken in the classroom.
Reporting: The state does not have schools report CE hours.
Expiration date of course: Courses expire 6 months after the order date.
Final Exams: Final exams must be passed with a 90% and may be taken as many times as necessary in order to pass. (17.11(5)
Certificates: Immediately upon real estate course completion, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course Certificate of Completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five (5) years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your Certificate(s) of Completion with your renewal. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificates of completion will reflect this.
